The Youth Services Bureau (YSB) has rallied the community to raise awareness about young people on the streets.

January 31, 2013, Ottawa—The Youth Services Bureau’s Employment Services directly addresses local youth unemployment, with the Ottawa Youth Job Fair taking place at the Jim Durrell Centre on January 31.

Ontario Government Funding Enables CHEO, OPH, The Royal and YSB to join forces to support teens in the community: “As parents and as a community, we want our children and youth to get help before they reach a full-blown crisis,” says Joanne Lowe, YSB’s executive director. “We need to invest in better continuity of care, since we know young people will have less need for intrusive and expensive services when we tackle their mental health issues early on.”

Ottawa, November 4, 2010—An innovative new program to help young parents get past barriers to employment was officially launched today by two partner agencies, the Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa (YSB) and the Youville Centre, with the help of the Hon. John Baird, MP for Ottawa-West Nepean.

Mr. Munter will become the new Chief Executive Officer of the Champlain Local Health Integration Network (LHIN).

Community Foundation of Ottawa donates $28,800 to Youth Services Bureau shelters

The Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa (YSB) and the Sandy Hill Community Health Centre (SHCHC) today opened the doors to a health clinic for streetinvolved youth. The two agencies’ unique partnership and groundbreaking approach bring together primary care, mental health services and addictions treatment in one place.

Today 256 youth from low-income Ottawa neighbourhoods will graduate with valuable new job skills and work experience from the Summer Jobs for Youth program of the Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa (YSB). They will receive certificates at a graduation ceremony at 4:00 p.m. at the RA Centre on Riverside Drive.

The Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa (YSB) and the Village Committee are working together to break down barriers for gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, two-spirit and questioning (GLBTTQ) youth by raising two rainbow flags at the YSB’s young men’s shelter.

The Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa today released the most comprehensive study on the health of street-involved youth and outlined a practical strategy to address those needs.
